URGENT CALL TO PRAYER/FASTING

I am writing to you from Ukraine today with something that is weighing heavily on my spirit regarding C-484 (Unborn Victims of Violence Bill). We are currently on route to Israel for to meet the 4MYC team there and have stopped for a few days in Ukraine to encourage believers here with the testimony of what we have seen God do these past years on Parliament Hill. It is exciting, however, while here I have become increasingly distracted with concern for Canada.

The night before last something unusual happened to me. I am normally a heavy sleeper but two nights ago I was in a light sleep throughout the night dreaming about C-484. All night long I was gripped with a deep sense of urgency regarding this bill at this moment. I don't believe these dreams were from the 'power of suggestion' in terms of my inner-thoughts. Actually, up until that night, I had been quite focused on what I am speaking and ministering on here in Ukraine. I believe the dreams and the unrest two nights ago (which are still weighing heavily in my spirit) were a strong alert from God regarding 1) the importance of Bill C-484 and 2) the urgency of the moment we are in regarding this Bill right now. To remind you, this bill will protect women who choose to keep their child to birth.

I believe C-484 is a watershed piece of legislation for Canada in this current leg of history.

To natural human logic it is a 'common sense' bill. However the spirit that drives the pro-choice movement in Canada is incredibly threatened by it for some reason. Logic says that If the pro-choice movement (and the spirit that drives it) is truly about 'choice' then it makes NO sense that they would oppose C-484 which protects a woman's choice to keep her child. There is something deeper that is being touched with this legislation. I believe what is being touched is beyond flesh and blood. We need to discern the times and respond accordingly.

Because of what I had been sensing, I e-mailed back to Canada encouraging our team on the ground to stay alert and focused in spite of my absense physically. After e-mailing, one of our interns, Sarah, e-mailed me back to tell me that she had also been kept up all night dreaming about C-484 and sensing it's urgency. This was a significant confirmation and has brought me to a place of earnestly seeking the Lord in the last 24 hours regarding what He is asking us to do to fight for C-484.

DISCERNING THE TIMES IN CANADA AND KNOWING WHAT TO DO:

I know there are many people on this list, and I don't know what you believe about things like 'dreams' inspired by Holy Spirit. If you feel uncomfortable with that language you can call it political intuition or women's intuition (smile). Whatever it is, at this point I feel the urgency strongly enough that I am willing to take a risk and say that I believe God is speaking. I believe He is calling us to fast and pray to ensure that C-484 and/or other legislation like it PASSES.

I believe we are in a 'danger zone' regarding this historic bill and that opponents, both in the natural (people/activists) and in the spirit (spiritual forces that drive an agenda to destroy children) are ramping up. This is nothing to be afraid of, we simply need to be alert, aware and responsive in the spirit. The greater power is on our side (prayer), if we will access it.

WHAT IF? I keep wondering if the outcome of changing the definition of marriage would have been different if we had (on a broader scale) discerned the times not just by the news reports and political bulletins but by the Spirit of God. I believe there are key times that we need to discern what is happening in our nation, be 'ahead' of the news reports and respond with inspiration from heaven. Political activism, though important, is not enough. Some things only come out by prayer and fasting. The power to shape history truly is in our hands. This is not a fantasy.

I pray that I am communicating effectively.

WHAT THEN?

After seeking Heaven on all this, I believe we need to respond by calling a national FAST UNTIL 484 IS PASSED.

We want to appeal to each of you to pick a day of the week and commit to fasting and praying for C-484 until it is passed. We have no garuntee, but we have even less of a chance if we do nothing. If we can't fight in prayer for this legislation how will we be able to fight for even more controversial bills and more intense issues down the road? Perhaps this is our training ground (smile). Let's do it and make heaven proud.

NATURAL STATUS OF C-484 & PRAYER POINTS FOR YOUR FAST:

C-484 is 'technically' in committee but because of stalling that is happening there on other issues, it has not come to the table for review by the committee as of yet.

Along with this, in the natural, the pro-choice movement is mobilizing aggressively and will be doing a protest on Parliament Hill and in New Brunswick this Saturday (May 3rd). (Note: if you are a pregnant lady and would like to be a part of an peaceful on-site counter protest PLEASE call our office at 613-422-4279).

PLEASE PRAY:

1) BOTTOM LINE: That C-484 and other legislation like it would pass.

2) For major favour to be upon Ken Epp (MP) as he defends the bill.

3) For weather patterns to disrupt the protests this weekend and for all protests against C-484 to be cancelled.

4) For those who carry a voice opposing C-484 to have no effect.

5) For MPs in the committee (and House of Commons) who will be voting on this bill to see that it is 'common sense' and for opposing views to be exposed for their lack of compassion and sanity.

6) For thousands of Christians across Canada to join in this fast.

7) Pray whatever the Lord shows you - in a spirit of love and compassion (accusation gets us nowhere).

Please also bring this alert to your churches and prayer groups to ask them to join the fast and agree with these points in prayer. We will send more updates as we have them.
