BREAKING NEWS/URGENT ALERT:
Should This Man Be Given The Highest Honour In Canada In A Couple Days?
If you have been tracking moral issues in Canada at all in the last 4 decades you will know this face, it is Dr. (abortionist) Henry Morgentaler. He is the Father of Secular Humanism in Canada and the Father of Abortion. With his personal hands it is likely that tens of thousands of babies have been aborted and countless women's lives devastated [click here to watch 'First Degree Morgentaler' & find out what we mean (10 min. documentary)]. Because of his activism for 'abortion rights' several million Canadian children of the generation under the age of 38 never made it past the womb. Does this man deserve to be honoured by us as a nation in a couple days?
It has JUST COME TO OUR ATTENTION that, despite a large out cry against this a couple months back, Dr. Henry Morgentaler will likely receive the highest honour in Canada on Monday/Tuesday, the Order of Canada. This is a surprise to us as we were assured by the Governor General's office that there were no plans to honour him. So we, perhaps like you, have been stunned by this announcement and left wondering what has happened behind closed doors.
Normally anyone who receives this award does so by unanimous consent of the committee that approves nominees. From what we understand at this point, this committee, headed by Chief Justice Beverly McLachlin, PC, decided to over-ride that protocol and take this one to a democratic vote on the committee. The majority of the committee voted in favour of Morgentaler's nominee and so, for (what we understand) may be the first time in history the committee appointed someone without their normal unanimous consent - someone who millions of Canadians would not consider a hero in our nation. We all need to act IMMEDIATELY on this one as your voice will count, big time, in the next 48 hours.
Action Steps:

- Contact the Chief Justice Beverly and ask her to re-call the decision do to the fact that it was NOT unanimous and that it does not reflect the views of all Canadians (as it should). [Click here to go to her site and links to her information.]
- VERY EFFECTIVE: Write a letter to your local, or national, papers about this. If you can submit them to your local editor on Sunday the 29th this would be most effective - though the general rule is always 'the more the better' so even if you get it in on Monday/Tuesday...go for it!
- Contact your MP and urge him/her to encourage the Prime Minister to denounce this. [Click here to find out who your MP is.]

- Get the word out in your networks about this - especially your churches tomorrow (Sunday the 29th).

Update (Repeat): C- 484 Will Be Voted On This Fall, Summer Is The Time To Act
Good News! - A recent Angus Poll showed 68% of Canadians support C-484. Our MPs need to hear from you as evidence of this stat!
UPDATE: Due to the Justice Committee stalling all spring it looks like C-484 (the Unborn Victims of Crime Bill by Ken Epp) is going to go to third reading in the fall without having to go through committee. This is potentially great news as some of the bills greatest opponents were in the Justice Committee (Carole Freeman primarily). What this also means is that we (you and us) need to be ON THE BALL this summer encouraging our Members of Parliament to support C-484 in it's 3rd reading. We now have a target list of MPs that are a high priority to contact and ask to support this bill. On this target list are MPs who may or may not support it in 3rd reading and they need to hear from YOU!
