Remember Hitler
Remembrance Day. The purpose is to honor fallen soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect our country. I like Remembrance day, but I have a suggestion for next year. How about after we have the moment of silence to remember those who died, we have a moment to remember Hitler?
Before you scream "Heresy!" and run, let me finish. I don't in any way think we should honor Hitler. But we need to remember his beliefs and policies, and the horrors that they birthed. We need to remember so we can make sure it never happens again.
But, your thinking, we aren't doing what Hitler did. We're MODERN. HUMANE. that was all in the past. we're beyond that now.
Have you ever heard of T-4? it was a bill Hitler wrote. One of his pet projects really. Here's what it said:
"Reichsleiter Bouhlerand
and Dr. med. Brandt
are instructed to broaden the powers of physician designated by name, who will decide whether those who have - as for as can be humanly determined - incurable illnesses can, after the most careful evalutation, be granted a mercy death.
signed: Adolf Hitler"
This led to the death of at least 70,273 people. Including Altzheimers patients, those in asylums, those with physical and mental disabilities and even juvenile delinquents. at least 5,000 of these senseless murders were small children.
Could a modern and humane Canadian please please explain to me why we have Bill C-384 "dying with dignity" that would legalize assisted suicide and Euthanasia calling them "mercy killings" ready to be voted on in Parliament this week?
Or why we allow the murders of 91,377 unborn babies every year? How a baby in Canada is not really considered a human being and can be aborted up until the moment of birth? Next year, when we put up wreaths for the 66,944 Canadian soldiers killed in WW1 or the 45,300 who sacrificed themselves in WW2, let's put up a wreath for the 2-3 MILLION Canadian babies legally murdered.
So next year, let's take a moment to remember the fallen. Remember their sacrifice. Remember what they died to stop. Remember Hitler.
Lest we forget.
