Any of you who know Faytene know that she is leading several initiatives across the nation of Canada, into Israel and increasingly traveling and stirring up revival internationally as well. It is her joy to live her life in this way as a laid down lover of God and servant of the Gospel in full time ministry.
People will often ask, "So how to you live (provide for yourself)?," because her life is so 'outside the box' for a Canadian. There are a few answers to that question.
Firstly, Faytene does not take a salary with any of the Canadian ministries she leads but serves them as a volunteer leader/director. As she travels and speaks the hosting churches/ministries will often sow an honourarium into her as a gift (though this is not mandatory and Faytene does NOT 'charge' to preach).
Secondly, she receives some revenue from her books and other 'tent making' projects like the art and jewlery she makes. So every time you pick something up off this site you are not only getting sweet stuff but you are sowing directly into Faytene's calling to full time ministry. This is much like how the Apostle Paul made tents on the side while preaching the gospel. Those who purchased his tents were actually not just getting good tents but were partnering in the advancement of the gospel. Sweet deal. Those were powerful tents.
Though these income streams are a blessing, they are often not sufficient. Because of this Faytene constantly lives in the faith-zone (and loves every minute of it! - God is faithful and in over a decade of full time service He has proven Himself again & again). The "difference" between what comes in and what it costs to live in Canada is often made up by those who stand with Faytene as personal financial partners on a regular or monthly basis.
Because all of this must be lined up to the word of God, we want to take a moment to highlight the biblical precedent of this type of partnership:
- Paul acknowledged the church of Phillipi for how they stood with him financially so he could go forward in the work God had called him to (Phil 4:14-17). In verse 17 Paul says something amazing when notes his motivation for asking for support saying, "...Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that abounds to your account."
- Mt. 27 indicates that there were women that traveled with Jesus to minister to His practical needs
- in Mt. 10 Jesus told his disciples to take nothing with them when they traveled to preach the gospel declaring that a worker is worth their wages
- 1 Tim 5. instructs us that those who preach and teach are worthy of support
- partnership with the Levitical priests is also all over the Old Testamtent as the offerings of the Israelites were brought to the temple so that the priest could be freed up to serve God full time (without being tied up working in fields etc.)
This "partnership" page is not for those of you who have NOT been impacted by Faytene's ministry work - but it is to give opportunity for those of you who believe in the call on her life and have a desire to stand with her in it. Like Paul in Phil 4, her heart in giving this opportunity is 1) to be honest with her need and 2) to give an opportunity for people to join with her in the advancement of the Gospel. Her prayer is that fruit would also be credited to your heavenly account because of it (on the basis of Phil 4:17). She would not want anyone to partner with her for any other reason than that they believe in what she is doing, feel called to stand with her practically and are doing it with joy (seeing it as a priviledge just as the Philippians would have with Paul).
So, if you believe in Faytene's ministry and the message she carries, and, would like to be a part of keeping her on the front lines influencing the nation, nations and generations then partnering on a monthly or regular basis is a great way to do that. As you partner you are enabling Faytene to continue to travel and speak throughout the nation of Canada (much like you would partner with a missionary overseas). Every time she speaks, ministers to a person and influences the church and nation at large, you will be right there with her!
